Circular double-stranded dna molecule (vs. linear in eucaryotes) One per cell (vs. > 1 in most eucaryotes) 3000-4000 genes (vs. 23,000 in a human) Highly folded ( supercoiled) conformation so as to fit into the cell. Circular, supercoiled, but separate from the chromosome. Smaller (5 100 genes), but usually > 1 copy per cell.
