PLAN 350 Lecture Notes - Lecture 22: Pedestrian Zone, Graph Theory
Document Summary
Plan 350 lecture 22 - march 2, 2014. Assignment 5: want a distinction between pedestrian precinct and a predestrian network. Focused on functional relationships as the pedestrian moves through. Precinct the streetscape and how they interact (doorways, shelters, street furniture) and what they perceive. If we can produce winter pedestrian areas, we need to bring the transportational to the forefront. We are aware of the limited physical space. Pedestrian"s perception: all five senses odors, tactile, etc. Same space, with an emphasis on the movement of people (or sometimes the movement of objects) Graph theory, networks are graphed for the interactions. We create representations of the streetscape, wind directions, volumes of pedestrians, difference types of intersections. Especially pedestrian nodes- in a streetscape we have a large. Nodes number of geographical points mosaicly covering the area. There are some points of interest : points where pedestrians linger (whether compulsory or affirmative)
