Document Summary

Rhizoplane: the outside of the surface of the root, included the surface of root hairs. The surface is cellulose, the place where the water moves into the roots along with the nutrients. Endo-rhizosphere: some bacteria are able to get into the root and between the cells they dont damage it though, they stay between the plant cells because they have enzymes that loosen up the cellulose and stay in there. Mixture of di erent bacteria that can do this. Active surface area - are the ne root hairs that are left in the soil when a plant and roots are pulled out of the ground. Plant root: provided mechanical anchor for the plant and a place where water and nutrients uptake water. Root exudates - part of the root that release nutrients into the soil. Thing like amino acids, organic acids, sugars, etc. They are important for the plant growth and interactions with the bacteria that is in the soil.
