This comes from when machines were implemented in textile mills in. King ludd was the leader of a movement that involved smashing these machines. Ideas that inspire change the enlightenment: gov"t, politics, and political ideology greater or lesser investments in social programs and public infrastructure. Change will happen to whole society because of interrelated parts. Changes in one part of society require changes in other parts in order to return to its natural state of balance and harmony. Social change comes about through resistance to oppression and exploitation by a dominant group.
