Document Summary
Superfund: remediation projects which involve cleaning up environmental pollution, including toxic, hazardous, or nuclear waste. Economic risk: due to unexpected conditions in cleaning up an area with subsurface contamination. Tip: task initiation procedure, which is as simple as understanding the project, identifying the risks, and defining the risk management plan for each risk. I ncludes a focus on risks associated with 5 broad areas and the management of identified risks to be included in 11 planning elements. 5 broad areas of risk: site conditions, technical performance, stakeholder issues, regulatory issues, contract issue. Ability to turn a high -risk activity into a low -risk activity through the planning process and implementing operation controls. Stopping and restarting: if you don"t stop and re-plan, eventually you will have a problem that you did not plan for, and the project will take infinitely longer. Three oversight processes: peer reviews, project reviews, quality and compliance audits.
