Pioneering new links between biological and cultural anthro. Critical medical anthropology takes local health issues and links it to larger issues. Believes that diseases don"t just occur due to the presence of pathogens (e. g. clean water, lack of healthcare etc. ) Can help other people cope and navigate cultural differences. Living species can change over time giving rise to new species. All living organisms share ancestry at least at some level. Not just a theory has been around for over 100 years and is more of a scientific theory (check bio first lecture for more info on scientific theories) Need both types of evidence (change over time and space) E. g. fossil record change over time. Change over space to explain why there is a variation.
