AVIA102 Lecture Notes - Lecture 15: Taxiway, Retract
Document Summary
Idle throttle, roll wings level, ease out of the dive. Add power only when a/s drops to less than a 100 kts. Make sure to roll wings level first then pull up and ease out of the dive. Do this fast, roll wings quickly make sure they are level, pitch up to the cruise then wait for the speed to drop to less than 100 kts before adding power. Approach at 70 kts w/ 20 degrees of flaps when turning onto final. Then add 30 degrees flaps and maintain 60 kts for best glide. Add power to control height, pitch for a/s. Maintain centreline (white line should go through your body) Do not add flaps till close to the runway. Do not stretch the glide by raising nose/ do not treat like a normal circuit: glide straightaway into the runway asap, use forward slips to increase rate of descent (full opposite rudder)
