Cell theory: organisms are made up of one or more cells, the cell is basic unit of structure for all organisms, cells arise only from existing cells. Both cell types produce macromolecules: nucleic acids (dna, rna, store genetic info), carbs (store energy), proteins (made up of amino acids), lipids (building blocks of membrane)
