First two original greek historians: herodotus and thucydides. First people who thought about writing down what has happened in the past fathers of history . Was called bronze age because it was before iron was used for tools and weapons so they used bronze. 2000 bc the greeks enter greece (hellenes enter hellas): group of europeans migrated down to greece from the north, and they spoke a language that was an early form of. This is the first evidence for greek history. Minoans weren"t greeks because they spoke a different language, but they influenced the greeks. Had an advanced civilization on island of crete. 1600-1200 bc: mycenaean civilization was the first greek civilization that we know of. Before this, the greeks were being influenced by the minoans but not really doing anything themselves to advance their civilization. 1200 bc: there was a disruption in the whole mediterranean.
