Document Summary
Hi, welcome to our tour on the subglacial and glacial geomorphology of iceland with can i get a drumlin please? . The area of interest for our tour includes the eastern and north-eastern glacial structures carved out from the vatnajokull ice-cap. These include the eyabakkajokull and its neighbouring glacial structures, For convenience purposes we will refer to the bruarjokull glacier as glacier a, Glacier a is considered the largest surging glacier of the vatnajokull ice-cap and is located on the northeastern side. These glaciers have had the most recent and well-documented surges that took place in 1810, 1890 and most recently between 1963 and 1964 (evans et al. , 2007). We"ll start at glacier a its associated features that we will look into in detail. The prominent con-certina eskers of glacier a are identified as compressed subglacial features and therefore the term zig-zag eskers was coined (evans et al. , 2007). We have two examples of the zig-zag eskers.
