Planning in tourism has undergone considerable refinement and adjustment in response to the changing scale and complexity of the industry. Impacts of unplanned tourism: coral destruction, beach erosion, pollution/garbage/air, conversion of farmland, congestion (vehicle and pedestrian), crime, prostitution, Planned tourism: increased cost of living, beach pollution, wetland destruction, unplanned development, pollution, conversion of farmland, congestion.
