Includes airports, roads, seaports, walkways & train stations. Scenic travel can be very important to tourists (railway & airplanes are examples) Efficiency is not always included in planning because people don"t always think it"s required. Air, sea, bus, car, foot, train: power/electricity. Thermal, wind, nuclear, etc: telecommunications, water. Quality will very between different places: sewage/drainage. Hospitals that are up to western standards are not always existing. Health care will vary from place to place. If you don"t have these basic elements, you can"t have tourism. Planning: funded & planned by government (local, regional & national, main reasons: Costs: private sector usually takes secondary role, occasionally private sector takes on greater role. Generally built for tourism; doesn"t need to exist to support the existing community: important to think about where it is going to be built.
