The nervous system is involved in coordination, monitoring and controlling of voluntary and involuntary actions. Divided into 2 different classes of nervous system: Sagittal plane (looking through the brain from the side) Coronal plane (more like a mirror in the middle of the brain vertical) The plane that divides the 2 brain hemispheres in half, cutting through medial longitudinal fissure. Ventricles: (cid:272)a(cid:448)ity"s i(cid:374) the (cid:271)rain (some stem cells are in the ventricles) Lateral view directional term: (side of the brain) Has 3 specific layers: dura mater: 3rd layer (very tough and hard to cut through, arachnoid layer- 2nd layer which is like a spider web, pia mater- the very first layer attached to the brain. Have blood going into the brain, the neurons need blood oxygen supply as well as glucose. The blood goes into the brain thru blood vessels. 4 main blood vessels the blood vessels branch out so that the neurons can have access to the oxygen/blood.
