Lawyers in north america have high status and make a lot money, so many applicants . Standards for law school are very high, you need really good grades. Law degree is an undergrad degree, getting to law school isn"t hard but a lot of work. Law school assumes that you are good character they don"t screen you, work on the assumption that you are honest. Rare for people to not be admitted to law school. Rare for lawyers to be disbarred, -taking away your right to be lawyer. If lawyers are caught doing something wrong eg. fraud, they can be disbarred. Ontario bar association would do that in a tribunal hearing, they would listen and make a decision on your right to be a lawyer.
