Transportation: the british used to transport convicts to camps where. If you put people in prison they become institutionalized. Prison is a bad thing they couldn"t commit crimes. Best way to rehabilitate is to avoid prison. Rehabilitative prisons are usually alternatives to prison, such as probation with conditions, they tend to be more lenient sentences, more humanitarian, not punitive, meant to give chances. Treatment ideology is controversial: people commit crimes because of circumstances, they don"t need treatment per say, belief that humans can change.
