Relatively clear separation between legal institutions and other types of institutions. Subjugation of other institutions to the legal authority of legal institution, other institutions are still subject to the law (law still applies to politics) Legal institutions doing law are separate from political institutions doing politics. Set of legal rules of different sorts. Law as coherent organic body of rules and principles with its own integral logic. Law has its own rules to allow it to grow and change on their own, the idea that we have a system of law. Existence and specialized training of lawyers or other legal personnel. The rule of law**(will be on exam in depth), the law applies equally to everyone and nobody is above the law! . It is important so that law is allow to constrain government and restrict the use of arbitrary powers.
