Mathematics is like most other things that we do: in order to get better at it you need to prac- tice. Sometimes this will require that you take more than one attempt at a problem, and even then you may need to ask for some guidance. Please do not hesitate to ask for assistance, but please also attempt to solve a problem before asking for help with the problem. Some of the questions require little work, only understanding. Questions from beyond the sections required for assignment 3 are included for working ahead. Note the practice questions presented here are the same as listed on the recommended problems list on the website. The questions below are to be answered neatly and completely on standard size (8. 5 by. 11 inch, or metric equivalent) paper and submitted for marking. Please insure that your name and id number are clearly indicated on each page.
