Drug an agent intended for use in the diagnosis, mitigation, treatment, cure or prevention of disease in man or animal, also called, medicinal ingredient, active ingredient, active pharmaceutical ingredient (api) The fda defines drugs as any product that is intended for use in the diagnosis, cur mitigation, treatment or prevention of disease, and that is intended to affect the structure or any function of the body. Dosage form the types of preparation in which the drug is present to the patient, this is the drug delivery system: solids powders, capsules, tablets, liquid solutions, dispersions, semisolid creams, ointments, suppositories.
