Women should subsume her identity to that of her husband. Marriage was the only way a woman could support herself. Jobs that are market towards women usually have lower status and lower pay. Women traditionally were given lower levels of education so they could not go out and get the higher status jobs that would pay more. Sexism, frye gave a definition that she believed was wrong, in which anything that creates and exploits irrelevant distinctions between sexes is sexist. But, it is not always wrong to discriminate against gender, if you work in a suit store that is directed towards males, you would most likely prefer to have a male model them. Implicit bias: a sort of discrimination that people perpetuate without even realizing, names on resumes, those that sounded like females (even if written by a male) are ranked lower, expectations about social roles.
