Encourages people to learn as much as they can about the candidates, voting process ect. Countries with compulsory voting have less of a divide between informed and uninformed. Rational minorities, younger people (marginalized people) do not vote as much. Therefore, the outcomes of the vote do not re ect the majority. Those who do not vote should be forced to vote and essentially speak on their important issues, so that the laws will be re ective as to what the marginalized people want. By less people voting, the people who do vote are given more power. Certain groups have more in uence over the laws. Candidates will need to gear their platforms to all, not just the groups they know will vote.
