Social psych def: people influencing people, a scientific study. Social psych is focused on the individual, not just the whole group like a sociologist does. How a setting influences you, or social perceptions correlation indicators. Situations: 2 broad classes of attribution (person and situation: power of the situation, person by situation interactions, fundamental attribution error (fae) overestimate the internal causes (about the person) and underweight the external cause. Usually think it is the person and not the situation. Motivation: to belong, understand, control, enhance and trust.
