Inactivity depression inactivity a constant vicious cycle. Step 1: identify activities to increase: involvement with family and friends. Inviting people to do things, keep in contact, returning phone calls. Gives people chance to provide reassurance and support: personally rewarding activities. Reminds you of your own interests, things that are important to you: self-care. Taking shower, cleaned up, getting dressed, exercising, being healthy. Enhance sense of physical well-being and reminds you that you are competent: small duties. Opening the mail, paying bills, housecleaning, grocery shopping. Set manageable goals normally much lower than you normally would.
