Another myth is that schizophrenic individuals are constantly out of control. During a psychotic episode, their grasp of reality is tenuous with thoughts and feelings having a life of their own, independent of the external world. But they are not always in a psychotic episode. Another myth is that schizophrenia is biologically inevitable. There is a predisposition but not a biological predestination. Another myth is that once someone is a schizophrenic, they are always a schizophrenic. That"s often the case, but some may have a full recovery. Another myth is that schizophrenic individuals are creative. There is a small positive correlation (except for paranoid type).
