Lectures feb 4th to mar. 6th: textbook chapter 4 (section 4. 3 only section on core knowledge), all of chapter 6 (language, 30% - things never mentioned in lecture. Identify problems understand evidence conclusions look for other evidences from txtbk. Right-wing politics: religions (christianity, catholicism, buddhism, etc) all comes with their own set of moral principles, etc. , social class (working class, middle upper class) have different values. Middle upper class values freedom of thought, uniqueness, standing out, ambitious and working class values community, fitting in: must figure these out to function within and across social groups. Act with empathy do unto others you would have them do unto you. Be just create rules and laws that promote the welfare of all, and respect the rights and viewpoints of the greatest possible number. How do we get our moral knowledge: have innate principles that we can flexibly apply to new situations.
