We can’t directly observe constructs so we have to observe behaviour
Ex: we can’t ‘point’ to the extraversion of ourselves
Instead we observe behaviours (person who talks to everyone is displaying
extraversion)
We can’t observe job performance, so instead we use job performance
appraisals
