PSYCH339 Lecture Notes - Lecture 18: Job Performance, Reamer, Metacognition
Document Summary
Goal comparison feedback outcome behaviour (bold is in circle) Match ksas between training and the job. Doesn"t need to be high physical fidelity. For training for work, you don"t necessarily need physical fidelity but you do need psychological fidelity (simulators for truck drivers or firefighters) Transfer: extent to which knowledge and skills acquired during training are applied on the job. Positive transfer: knowledge and skills acquired during training are applied on the job and the result is a positive outcome. See the cues, and do what was told and results in positive transfer. Negative transfer: knowledge and skills acquired during training are applied on the job and the result is negative. See the cues, and do what was told but doesn"t work. Adaptive transfer: can use knowledge and skills acquired during training to come up with a new behaviour (one that wasn"t trained) to be used on the job.
