Where as the number of jobs created by tourism hit 199,732 in 1995 (oecd), 200,000- Developing in rural/poor areas creates inequalities between the developed and undeveloped areas. With tourism growth, jobs are created and income grows. Regional development is dependent on integration and economic leakage. Western tourists expect facilities and services to the standards of their home country, therefore infrastructure development requires large capital investment. Most are looking to invest where infrastructure is already strong and developing countries cannot afford to use their scarce capital. Local is sometimes replaced by large non-local capital investors. Politics is sometimes limiting as well as educational limitations and lack of expertise. Some people have gone from potential active partners and beneficiaries to cheap labour. Gaps between classes in turkey have been widened due to tourism.
