Desire to bring to light about the truth of indulgences . The pope has neither the power to rimed guilt . Realized that in christian tradition, that grace is given by god nothing you could do can buy your salvation. Luther saw selling indulgence as theological nonsense. Excommunicated by the pope. Diet of worms (1521) Married katharina von bora, had 6 kids of their own and adopted 4. Not against the church or pope simply because he saw that it was a betrayal of teachings of jesus. Division in the church protestants & catholic.
