From a life span perspective, development begins at conception. Conception- chromosomes from the ovum and sperm come together to form 23 pairs in a ne cell and this cell is called the zygote. The annual number of multiple births has increased by almost twenty-nine percent. Drugs that enhance the fertility of the woman. Canada has a new legislation that regulates assisted human reproduction and research is involved. Three ways that couples can make use of assisted human reproduction: Fertility drugs: taking a number of drugs, sometimes for the males, sometimes for the female or both at particular times in the menstrual cycle and particular times of the day. In-vitro fertilization/ test tube method- involves uniting an ovum and sperm in a lab dish and then that is implanted in the woman"s uterus. Egg can come from the female who will carry the child or from a donor.
