Document Summary

A model or overall theory, tends to gives us information from a big picture view or a more larger perspective rather than looking at very specific kinds of information. Carl jung developed one of the models. He had a freudian perspective with some slight differences. Believed that there is possibly more change in further stages of the lifespan compared to freud who believed that personality and functioning of adults was complete in the early years. 4 developmental stages: childhood, youth, maturity and old age. Childhood (birth- late teenage or early 20s) - individuals still had a lot to learn, a lot to develop. Good deal of emotional, social, and perhaps intellectual development to take place. Task- emerging from universal unconsciousness and moving into self- awareness. This stage is termed as the dawn of life. Life course where individuals were very dependent on other people for their care and nourishment and development.
