Informative speech: a speech designed to convey knowledge & understanding. Speeches about processes: process: a systematic series of actions that leads to a specific result r product, two kinds of speeches: One explains a process so that listeners can understand it better. Speeches about events: event: anything that happens or is regarded as happening, can be chronological, cause and/or effect, and topical. Don"t be too technical: jargon: the specialized or technical language of a trade, profession, ot similar group, the speaker must avoid using technical words when informing a general audience. Personalize your ideas: personalize: to present one"s ideas in human terms that relate in some fashion to the experience of the audience. Speeches of introduction: try to build enthusiasm for the upcoming speaker and for his or her topic, establish a welcoming climate that will boost the speaker"s creditability. Speeches of presentation: given when someone is receiving publicly an award, gift, or some other form of recognition.
