Pregnancy and abortion affect more than just cis women: cis privilege: they have a set of privileges just based on the fact that their gender and assigned sex are aligned. Even if abortion is legal, some physicians may refuse to preform them: moral position. Abortion laws not only puts those seeking to abortions at risk, but also the health-care professionals and any individuals that may have provided them assistance. Laws can also specify the means/conditions by which people can access abortion care in places where it is legal. By making abortions illegal, governments are putting those seeking abortions at risk. Canada is one of only a few nations with no legal restrictions on abortion. 1967 proposed amendment to section 251 of the criminal code by trudeau.
