Tokugawa iemitsu, the 3rd shogun, dies in 1651. Iemitsu is succeeded in 1651 by his son tokugawa ietsuna, who is ten at the time, and who remains shogun till 1680. By dying childless, ietsuna opens the way for his younger brother. 1651 as the same year that yui sh setsu"s r nin conspiracy was discovered, and. Yui (a martial arts instructor) is executed along with all of his accused fellow conspirators. Bakufu increases efforts to civilianize the r nin specifically and samurai generally. Adopted by a bunch of samurais who treated him like a servant, learnt martial arts along the way. Free samurais often hang out together in martial arts places. Marubashi chuya hangs out at the yui shosetsu"s school. Signal: when iemitsu dies; that"s when we are going to start uprising. Marubashi gets sick, into delirium government is shocked that an insurrection is planned; especially when a ten year old is on the throne.
