Gaia- goddess of the earth and life: one of the four original entities, alternatively she was created from chaos. Children: the sea (pontos), the mountains, oranos, the titans, the cyclops, the hundred- handers. Oranos- god of the sky [he is the sky itself: born from gaia through parthenogenesis, husband to gaia. Cronos- king of the titans: roman name: saturn, born from gaia & oranos, married to rhea, overthrew his father and castrated him. Rhea: born from gaia & oranos, married to cronos, helped zeus overthrow his father cronos. Children: zeus, hades, poseidon, hestia, hera & demeter. Zeus- king of the olympians: roman name: jupiter or jove, married to hera, but it is a difficult marriage, overthrows his father cronos. Immortal children: ares, athena, dionysus, artemis, apollo, aphrodite (depending on the story), persephone, eileithyia, hermes, etc. Mortal children: heracles, helen of troy, castor/polydeuces, tantalos, perseus. Domain: god of the sky, justice, oaths and hospitality.
