Will forget or mix up with other clients. Begin to form relationship in early childhood. Human was most close with mothers during infancy. Mom is a symbol during early childhood. During childhood, human want to devour their mom. The same boy is less likely paternal grandfather grandmother. People behave, think, look, in ways that they cannot explain. The unconscious exist and does a lot to the human mind. Doesn"t even know that they have secret oedipus-y thought. Provide context for the client to understand self. Encourage clients to talk freely w/o looking at the therapy. To self-reflect, self-observe, w/o interpretation, w/o deviating from their trains of thought. Some school of psychology encourage therapy to be transparent and share their thoughts with the clients. Forbid therapist and the client to play detective. Not changing anything from the motional load presented by the clients. What"s important is for clients to find out about their past.
