Document Summary

A system is cognitive, if it can think (process information), and act on what it thinks. We might say that a cognitive system is someone (or something) whose behaviour is understandable in terms of what it is thinking. Look at slide for diagram (cid:3247)cognitive system(cid:3248) suppose i am a blind man, and i use a stick. The stick is a pathway along which [information is] being transmitted. The way to delineate the system is to draw the limiting line in such a way, that you do not cut any of these pathways in ways which leaves things inexplicable. But when the blind man sits down to eat his lunch, his stick and its messages will no longer be relevant - if it is his eating that you want to understand . Causation: think of a video that a psychologist took of a disruptive child, an angry mother, and a lame father. First time watching the video: what a shitty kid.
