All these help us measure how big our human footprint is! How to get detailed info about a city is just hard to get as the world is changing constantly. So we use remote sensing to help us! Satellites can visit the city and take images over and over again. Here, we are able to get consistent values just by relying on satellites. Satellites are able to be used to capture images of countries at night. From these images, we are able to see the cit lights, thus, being able to tell human concentration, city expansion, human population etc. Types of remote sensing for human footprint detection: aerial imagery. Just put a camera on a plane. History for canada, we started to see aerial images from 100 years ago. Aerial imagery was the first form of using remote sensing to look at our human footprint. We actually got this aerial photography planes/equipment from the british!
