Document Summary

The party members are gathering in the campaign office. Gathering is not considered a verb because it is describing the party members. We do summarizing every day: responding to how was your day , reading articles. Make clear sentences and explanation: objectivity. Summary does not include any stance: no interpretations, no judgements, accuracy. Not bring any outside material: sticking to the material we are focusing on. Summary writing process: make sure you fully understand the piece. Where active reading comes handy: note for gist. Avoid full sentences: take notes in sentence fragments. Avoid trivial details: stick to the big ideas. Keep interpretations and/or criticism separate: make and outline. Have everything on one page: to look at everything all at once, determine how long your summary should be. Compare how long the original"s summary is: write the summary (without looking at original to avoid plagiarism) Attribute statements to the author(s: *start sentence recommendation: author"s name, the title and the controlling idea.
