Course description: this course introduces students to the stylistic features of university writing as a highly specialized discourse that constructs and transmits knowledge. This section is designed to teach scholarly communication within the rubric of critical university studies. We will practice scholarly inquiry into one of our own university"s priorities: fostering wellness or wellbeing within the ubc community. Wellness issues for higher education with a view to developing familiarity with core aspects that he outlines: emotional, physical, and social wellness. Students will write a research paper investigating practices advocated by anderson and will determine how well ubc is following those practices.
