20-30% on the readings (what was the big idea behind . ) Social license: definition of media has completely changed over the last 20 years. Business model for newspapers/television has fallen apart, while the internet has risen and rearranged the media landscape: urban design is about building stuff. If it doesn"t involve public money, it involves changing the landscape that we consider to be ours. The look, scale, purpose is subjected to social license : social license: local community"s acceptance or approval of a company"s project or ongoing presence in an area a prerequisite to development. How is social license mediated: speaking up at the city hall consultation(formal presentations, social media: huge realm of discussion, online petitions: clear example of public will, advertising, lots of ways to mediate the social license. Future focused journalism: doesn"t stop at asking: what went wrong yesterday .
