Document Summary

Character difficult to id with and not just be addicting. Off centre narrative - this is no the drug addict story we want. Off center feeling/ meanings -askew and not in the right place. The lesson or meaning that we see is elided just like the camera elides the action. Just like the camera slides the central action of the film, so as well the meaning to the film. We never see the faces of the non central figures. People who are at the end of their rope. We hear their voices but we dont see their faces and who they are. We dont see the faces of people who are not suffering. This makes the film even more boring to watch. Humanizes the regular people - as we don"t really recognize those who don"t have a unique suffering. This cut with the methadone treatments, the pattern reminds of addiction too. The repetition with minor variation - how addiction works.
