Objectives for class #6- june 3, 2015: summarize why women are disproportionately affected by poverty and at greater risk for malnutrition. When food are scarce, men of the household are given priority because they are the breadwinners; hence causing women to be at greater risk for malnutrition. Because men are often the ones who go out and seek employment, their education are prioritize compared to of women. It is also many society"s beliefs that men/sons are capable of improving the life of the family whereas females are useless : describe the cycle of malnutrition in women. Infant girl young girl teenager potential mother pregnant/lactating. The above mentioned cycle goes on and on. At every stage, the individual experience problems of malnutrition such as low birth weight, growth stunted, delayed menarche, micronutrient deficiencies, and more birth complications. Identify ways in which maternal malnutrition can lead to negative birth outcomes.
