Some animals are poikilotherms or ectotherms or cold blooded (amphibians, reptiles, fish, insects), and some are homeotherms or endotherms or warm blooded (mammals, birds). The animal has a way to adapting to temperature changes. Tropical animals don"t have a big range to work with because temperature doesn"t change much. Arctic animals are adapted to a wider range of temperature. Mesophytes: plants that tolerate moderate moisture conditions. Hydrophytes: plants that tolerate very wet conditions. Geographic range: the entire area where a species can be found regardless of whether it is common or rare.
