Document Summary

Natural breaks: usi(cid:374)g the 5 (cid:271)iggest (cid:858)ju(cid:373)ps(cid:859) i(cid:374) data, to deter(cid:373)i(cid:374)e (cid:271)reaks. Equal interval: splitting data into same size classes. Quantiles: splits data up into equal observation, where majority of observations, are, more classes. Measure standard deviation(measure of dispersion around mean) Number of classes: 4-7 classes recommended. Ordinal, interval, ratio: 1 hue different values. One colour, light dark: 1 or more hues, alter value/chroma. Value: lightness/darkness of coloours, amount of white/black/gray in colour. Intensity, saturation of colour: more pigmentation, less gray, more brilliant. Printing palette: cmyk colour system = colour system for printing, subtractive colour mixing means that one begins with white and ends with black. As one adds colour, result gets darker and tends to black. Screen palette: rgb = light primaries used when working on screen, additive colour mixing beings with black, and ends with white. Adding more colour lighter and tends to white.
