Revolution in france sparked other european revolutions. Kings/princes agreed to let the frankfurt assembly try to draft a constitution for a united. They wanted to unify germany - one constitution for all countries. The frankfurt assembly failed - kings and princes regained their power. Metternich forced to quit after 40 years. Emperor had to abdicate, new emperor named. Most failed, things went back to the way they used to be.
