Problem with this is that they"re not equally measurable. What you can use the resources for depends on you, your capabilities, availability, etc. Eg. may buy less for someone, but you don"t know who you are before capabilities approach. once you go down one path, the other one is no longer a capability for you this is an effective view on freedom. Says what a person is physically, mentally, actually able to do. Negative view on freedom says oh hey little girl in india, you can climb everest, you"re free to do anything. Dignity-dignity essential capabilities central capabilities: life, security/bodily integrity, af liation (connecting with others), emotions, play (free time), control of the environment (political, material), practical reasoning (choose what you value), other species, being able to use intellectualness.
