Paper isn"t just about presenting a very radical perspective of power, but also distinguishing his view from the other 2 more conventional views. He defines them as the: 1-dimensional view, 2-dimensional view, and his view is what he refers to as the 3-dimensional view. Power: exercise that is successful against others. Dahl, and pluralists, view: a has power over b, in the extent that a would get b to do something that he would otherwise not do. So they"re looking at actual decisions, to determine this power function. So looking into electoral processes, town hall meetings, policies decision- making. So according to 1d view, these are the steps: Then, concrete behaviour is studied: what are the actions taken, the people behind the outcome, the decisions that are made. Who prevails in decision making determines who has power in social life. There will be a number of groups that is successful in this form of power!
