Document Summary

Politics could be seen in both positive and negative light. Politics is the process by which groups representing divergent interests and values make collective decision. All complex societies will always a need a mechanism to sort out those diferent interest and values and try to reconcile them. Economic scarcity is an inevitable characteristic of all societies; therefore needs a mechanism to distribute them. Politics is inevitable is politics seen in terms of diferences conlicts and scarcity. Not everyone agree as there are other school of thoughts: Politics is merely the organized power of one class for oppressing another . Marxist vision is unrealistic as it fails to take into account the human tendencies towards diference, ambition and competition. Liberal democratic ideology has proven superiority over all rivals, and though it might still be challenged it would ultimately prevail around the world.
