Civil liberties current issues: which amendment protects the participation of wealthy persons and corporations in political campaigns, first amendment freedom of speech and the press, the supreme court struck down the regulation on. Independent expenditures (citizen united vs. fec 2010: this decision made it legal for anyone to spend money for or against any candidates, as long as the campaign is. Constitutionality of the civil rights act of 1964: in restaurants, no shirt no shoes no service is ok. But why not segregation: moral reasons aside, segregation is prohibited primarily because the law says so. Major federal legislation on guns: the gun control act of 1968, after the assassinations of robert f. kennedy and martin l. king. Jr: the laws ban the sales of weapons through the mail and restricts the sale of new machine guns, the brady handgun violence prevention act (the brady bill) of 1993. Regulations act of 1975, which required all firearms be kept.
