You see large numbers bottom up, spontaneous, limited hierarchy, Occupy of 2011: what made occupy happen was ngos jumping on board, taking the supporters with them! We saw mass sit-ins, protests, people coming together from all over the world and this had a major effect on the government and organizations. Because they were dealing with a huge fallout and chaos-- had to relocate people, supplies, collection, help find homes so they didn"t really have the time and organization to have protests. So instead, we saw tons of protests in other parts of world- germany! They fought for solar and wind energy, and the phase out of getting rid of nuclear energy so now, actively getting rid of it! Lots of awareness and advocacy done here thru desire to have access to sustain for families. Often, in response to corporate land grabs and food/water shortages . Tactics: blocking roads, occupying mining or logging roads, refusing to leave land .
